Are you kidding me? Comparisons to Sufjan and Broken Social Scene are not just wildly inaccurate, but overtly pernicious. And those aren't even necessarily 'great' bands.
While I appreciate the effort these musicians are devoting to their music--for free no less--let's be honest: they're typical hipsters with a penchant for attention and a lot of work ahead of them before warranting such comparisons. This will probably get moderated, but I thought I would share none the less. -S
1) Pernicious, eh? That seems a bit like a wild misrepresentation there, too.
2) I find it hilarious you came to this post by googling "Spreepark band bad". 3) Having met a few of the members of Spreepark in the course of their work with Woodpigeon, I'd argue vehemently against the "hipster" tag. They're all honest, hard-working musicians, and I think they're doing it because they love making music, not because they're desperate for attention. |
