Show reminders

I'm going to try and have a longer post up this evening. But first, a quick post about a few ihm-presented shows coming up in the next few weeks...

First up, tonight at Café Dekcuf, there's...



Rich Aucoin (download "At War With The Cynics") playing songs from his new album, Public Publication, which is currently scheduled for release in early September. He'll be joined by funk-rockers New Teeth (who are one of the most fun live acts I've seen in some time), as well as The First Aid Kit and Wildlife). It's going to be an awesomely fun dance party, and it's only $7, so don't miss out!

Then on Friday, May 15th at Café Dekcuf, it's this:



The out of town bands, Regina's Rah Rah (download "Winter Sun") and Toronto's Ketch Harbour Wolves, are responsible for two of my favourite albums from 2008, while the two local acts -- Sunjet and Ship Shapes -- are pretty outstanding in their own right. And at only $7, you definitely can't go wrong.

Then on Thursday, May 21st at Café Dekcuf:



Great Bloomers (download "Honey Blanket") will be making debut Ottawa performance. They'll be joined by country-punks The Allrights (download "The Towel"), as well as one of Ottawa's most promising new bands, Anchors. It's only $7, it's 19+, and it's sure to be a wonderful time!

Lastly -- but certainly not least -- I'm pleased to announce this show for Friday, May 22nd at Dekcuf:



One of my favourite bands in the world, Black Hat Brigade, will be making the trek up the 401 in support of their brand new album, Fathers. They'll be joined by one of the best post-rock bands in the city, City of a Hundred Spires (download "Pequod), as well as newcomers The Death of Apollo. It's a great show for only $7, so don't miss it!
